However, the fact remains that making renewable hydrogen is more expensive than making grey hydrogen, and clients are generally not willing to pay premium prices for commodities. The cost of producing renewable H2 is still in the range of €5-8 per kg, which means renewable H2 is two to five times more expensive than grey hydrogen.
